FAQ
Medendo is the digital assistant for healthcare. The digital assistant directly converts the conversation between healthcare professional and patient/client into a complete, structured report. You conduct the conversation, Medendo takes the notes, and you review the report afterwards.
Medendo is built for healthcare, specializing in mental healthcare: long and complex consultations, professional terminology, intakes, and developmental histories.
Medendo is intended for healthcare professionals who need to report on their conversations: psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, and practitioners, from solo practices to large institutions. More than 7,500 healthcare professionals at more than 150 healthcare organizations use Medendo.
On average, 40% of healthcare professionals’ working time is spent on administration (NIVEL, 2023). With Medendo, a report is ready within 20 seconds after the consultation.
That saves evenings and weekends of catching up on work. During the consultation, you do not have to type along, leaving more attention and eye contact for the patient/client. And because nothing from the conversation is lost, the quality of the report is higher.
You can also dictate reports with Medendo, but it is much more than that. A dictation program converts what you speak yourself. Medendo listens to the entire conversation and creates a structured report from it, in the template you have chosen. You do not need to dictate or write anything during the consultation.
No. Medendo creates a report of what was discussed, nothing more and nothing less. Diagnoses, treatment plans, and clinical decisions remain entirely with you as the practitioner.
Medendo was developed for healthcare in general, with the most depth in mental healthcare. Do you work in a different healthcare setting and want to know if Medendo fits? Please contact us, and we will look at your workflow and reporting together.
FAQ
You open Medendo in your browser, choose your template, and start the recording. After the conversation, you press stop and the draft report is ready within seconds. You review it, make any desired adjustments, and copy it to your file.
Yes. In addition to physical conversations, you can also record video calls, for example via Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet. You only share the audio from your screen; no video recording is made. You can record an online meeting via the browser as well as via your desktop app of choice.
Medendo works in Dutch and 35 other languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, and Arabic. Dialects are also well recognized. This means you can speak Dutch while an interpreter translates and the patient/client speaks in another language.
The report is generated in Dutch by default, unless you have set a different language in your template beforehand. You can still have the report translated afterwards.
Yes. Medendo recognizes multiple speakers in a single conversation and works best with up to approximately five or six speakers. After the recording, you assign a role to each speaker, such as practitioner, patient/client, or partner, so it is clear who contributed what.
For larger groups, the transcription will still work, but the speaker assignment becomes less precise. For an MDT meeting, use one central device and ensure people do not speak over each other.
Yes, and that is the intention: Medendo provides a draft report for you to review. You can adjust the text manually, or have Medendo rewrite a passage to be shorter, more detailed, or phrased differently. You can also switch to a different template at any time, after which the report will be rebuilt. If you are not satisfied with an adjustment, you can easily return to the previous version.
Yes. You can choose templates from the library containing the most commonly used standards, and you can also create your own templates that align with your workflow and specialization. Upload an existing report or format, and Medendo will turn it into a personalized template within a minute. Templates can be shared with colleagues.
Medendo works in the browser on laptops, phones, tablets, and Chromebooks. No installation is required. You can be logged in on multiple devices, but please record a conversation on only one device at a time.
Medendo requires an internet connection to function. If the connection is lost briefly, the recording will continue and the report will be generated as soon as you are reconnected. If the connection remains lost for a longer period, the recording will stop. If you are working in a location with poor reception, use your phone with mobile data.

Your patient/client has the right to know that AI is being used during the conversation and may refuse this. Therefore, briefly explain what Medendo does and ask if it is acceptable. If someone does not agree, do not record the conversation and create the report in your usual way.
An example sentence you can use: “We use Medendo to quickly and securely convert conversations into text, so I can focus better on you and spend less time on administration. The recording is deleted immediately after the conversation. Do you mind if I use this?”

FAQ
Medendo provides a draft report that you review before using it. Always read it through, paying extra attention to names, dosages, numbers, and professional terminology.
You as the practitioner remain responsible. Medendo creates a draft; it is your report, your file, and your assessment. Once you place the report in your filing system, the retention and accountability policy of that system applies.
